Willa Wiluszówka Willa Wiluszówka

Wiluszówka is a beautiful example of the trendy „new villages” in Europe (Italian: Willa nuova, hence the name Wilanów), which are actually cities in gardens or garden cities. It was commissioned by Kazimierz Wilusz (1855-1919, buried in the Old Cemetery, near the main gate on the right side), who was involved in the oil industry in the Subcarpathian region, as well as a notary and legal representative of the Raczyński family on the estates of the Dębica district and a mass land seller, mainly in the Dębica and Kawęczyn farms; from 1904 to 1908, he was the mayor of the city of Dębica.

„Wiluszówka,” as it was commonly called, was built at the beginning of the century by Italian builders (apparently some details were also imported from abroad). It is a contemporary of the neighboring villa, also belonging to a lawyer, and like others of that time, it is built in an eclectic style. The most expressive elements are found in the front part: columns, strongly baroque arches, profiled archivolts, and a dentil-supported cornice – all in the baroque style, although the overall design is fully Renaissance. The entire facade, maintained in the so-called stacked order, meaning that each floor is organized according to separate principles, gives a sense of movement, baroque dynamism – and clearly, like a gallery, introduces us to the columned entrance cloister. The southern facade, although simpler, is equally impressive: with a view from the salon to the large garden, next to a loggia with columned arcades – and an ornamental wooden balcony on the upper floor. The lower part with exposed rustic work serves mainly decorative purposes, significantly thickening the massive walls and providing a gentle transition from plaster to stone. Additionally, there are balconies, staircases, windows, a simple but striking bay window, undeniable harmony between plaster, stone, diverse carpentry, and blacksmithing. All of this composition is set against a background of always (in the past) flower-filled lawns and trees, including exotic ones (now cut down) – making it undoubtedly the most interesting tenement house in Dębica.

In 2002, returning to the traditions of a century ago after thorough renovation and a return to the old atmosphere, the Guest House „WILUSZÓWKA” was established – a hotel with a restaurant.
